Review by Rabia Tanveer for Readers' Favorite:

Island Jet 370 by L. A. Smith is the story of three people who made some choices for their own benefit but these cause havoc for others. Jack Wellington is the pilot for a commercial airline who tries to do his best in every way possible. On the surface, he has a good job at the airline; he has a wife and two kids and a home to call his own, but he is not satisfied. He longs for the time when he was young and living with his father, the not-so-perfect life was the best he had. So he concocts a plan with his friend Harold and his girlfriend Janie to take supplies and fly the plane somewhere far away from their troubled lives. The only problem is that Jack and his friends would have a number of passengers to think about. With some planning and preparation they are ready. What is going to happen? Will they succeed in their plan?

This was a dark mystery, one that had me horrified with the thought that it could be real. The author raises a very good point with how we put our lives into the hands of literal strangers, but this has become the norm with how things are these days. The anti-hero of the story is Jack. He is relatable to the point where he is dissatisfied with his life and wants to run away from it , regardless of how wrong he is to play with the lives of others.I just loved to hate him, but at the same time, I wanted to see if he would be able to succeed in his plans. The pace was slow at times, but I felt that it was necessary to further the plot. Interesting and original, this novel will definitely give you something to think about before you board your next flight."

I found this to be a very pleasant story. I thought the plot was well thought out and very smooth. Just as things began evening out for the characters, a well placed conflict would arise. It kept me engaged and curious to find out what would eventually become of the Islanders. All in all, I would say it was a good read.

Cindy from Fairview, TN

I really enjoyed this book. The author took great care to describe characters, events, locations, and actions to give the reader a great understanding of each. This book is a good read. It draws the reader into the struggles and possibilities the characters face as they use their past mistakes to become stronger and better. This is a great first book, and I look forward to the next title, with much appreciation to the author for her fine and thoughtful work.

Katie from McEwen, TN

Very awesome book. Keeps you very interested and suspicious on what is about to happen next. Very good roll for all characters, and very recommended story to everyone. Story makes you really think and wonder what really happened to the actual Maylasia 370.

You won't be disappointed! For me a good book means that I can jump into the story while I'm reading. It kept my interest the entire time and I felt as though I was also on that island. Definitely worth reading.

Debra from Austin, TX

Bravo to L. A. Smith for crafting a story and characters that are rich in ingenuity, faith and camaraderie in the face of seemingly adverse circumstances. By reading this, I am again reminded of the beauty in simplicity, the intrinsic value of sharing cultural knowledge and the importance peer communication and respect can play in the transcendence of human experience.

Wendy from Dickson, TN

A very intriguing story line with characters that kept you engaged to the end.

L. A. Smith has written a book "Island Jet 370". It is captivating from the first page to the last. The characters are a variety of all kinds. They learn how to survive and become a community where all learn to work together. The story takes the reader's mind on a journey away from civilization. This book in my opinion should be read by all. You won't be disappointed.

Cindy from Dickson, TN

As a traveler who enjoys being able to fly, I really thought about how your life and well-being is in the hands of the pilot and crew members. The author L. A. Smith used her creative gift to write a suspenseful book to hold the reader's curiosity. Ms. Smith researched many parts of this book to make it real to the reader. As I read I could visually imagine the island, the damaged plane, and the passengers trying to rebuild and survive. Perhaps a sequel to this book will be created soon.
